COVID- 19 Response

With children, youth, and their families / caregivers at the heart of the Down Syndrome Association of Peterborough’s services and events, the advice of the City of Peterborough Public Health Unit (PPHU) has informed all measures which the DSP has put in place throughout the pandemic, in order to provide the greatest safe guards possible.

We thank our membership and community for the continued support to the DSP throughout COVID-19.

Continuing with our commitment to the health and safety of our membership and staff, our practices going forward will be aligned with the PPHU risk rating scale. A link to this information is provided here: https://www.peterboroughpublichealth.ca/covid-19-risk-guidance/
With the province’s removal of mandated masks on June 11th, 2022, and the PPHU rating of very low, the DSP will be following suit with PPHU recommendations on COVID-19 mask mandates. We will no long require members to wear a mask while in our building or engaged in our programming. We do ask that all participant’s complete the COVID-19 Self-assessment ( https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/ ) prior to attending programs, and if unable to pass, please follow current guidelines.
Participants, staff, parents, and caregivers are invited to continue to wear a mask, if they feel it is right for them, have symptoms of the virus, or are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

We will be closely monitoring the PPHU’s COVID-19 Risk Rating Scale as well as their recommendations as we move ahead, adjusting the DSP’s COVID-19 measures as needed.

Again, we thank you for all the support you have shown to the DSP these past, two difficult years, and we look forward to greater returns to normalcy.
